Macintosh OS 9.2 or earlier

To set up your dial up Internet access account:
Please check "My Server Requires Authentication" for out going eMail.

  1. Go to the apple menu and select Control Panels -> Modem
  2. On the Connect via menu, select Internal Modem
  3. On the Modem menu, select your modem. It is usually set to the internal modem which came with your system. You should not need to change this setting if this is the case.
  4. Close the modem window and select Save when prompted
  5. Go to the apple menu and select Control Panels -> TCP/IP
  6. On the Connect via menu, select PPP
  7. On the Configure menu, select Using PPP Server
  8. Close the TCP/IP window and select Save when prompted
  9. Go to the apple menu and select Control Panels -> Remote Access
  10. Enter the following information:

    Name: (username@yourisp.com)
    Password: (enter your password)
    Number: XXX-XXXX

  11. Click on the Options button
  12. Under the Connection tab, select the box Disconnect if idle for 10 minutes
  13. If you would like to automatically connect to the Internet when you open your e-mail or web browser, click the Protocol tab and check the box Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications
  14. Click the OK button
  15. Click the Connect button to connect to yourisp.com. Your computer is now configured for Internet access.

To set up Outlook Express 5 for e-mail:

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. On the top menu, click on Tools and select Accounts
  3. In the Accounts window, click on the New button
  4. Enter your name in the Display Name box. Click the right arrow at the bottom of the window to go to the next page
  5. Select I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use. Enter username@yourisp.com and go to the next page
  6. Select POP where it says My incoming mail server is a(n) POP server. Enter the following information:

    Incoming mail server: mail.yourisp.com
    Outgoing mail server: mail.yourisp.com
  7. Go to the next page and enter the following information:

    Account ID: (username@yourisp.com)
    Password: (enter your password)
    Check the box Save Password

  8. Go to the next page. Enter Yourisp in the Account Name box and click Finish. Outlook Express is now configured for you to send and receive e-mail
