Mac OS X

To set up your dial up Internet access account:

  1. Click on the apple menu and select Locations -> Network Preferences
  2. On the pull-down menu for Location, select New Location...
  3. Name your connection Yourisp and click OK
  4. On the pull-down menu for Show, select Internal Modem
  5. Click on the Modem tab. Select your modem from the list. You should not need to change this setting if your modem is working correctly or you are using the internal modem which came with your system
  6. Click on the PPP tab. Enter the information as follows:

    Service Provider: yourisp.com
    Telephone Number: XXX-XXXX
    Alternate Number: (leave blank)
    Account Name: (username@yourisp.com)
    Password: (enter your password)

  7. Check the box Save password
  8. If you would like to automatically
  9. connect to the Internet anytime you open your e-mail, web browser or other Internet application, click on PPP Options and check the box which says Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications. Click OK when finished.
  10. Click the Apply Now button and your computer is now ready to connect to yourisp.com

To set up your e-mail using OS X Mail:
Please check "My Server Requires Authentication" for out going eMail.

  1. Open the mail program (it's the icon on the dock which looks like a postage stamp)
  2. Go to the Mail menu and select Preferences
  3. Select the Accounts icon at the top of the Mail Preferences window
  4. Click the Create Account button
  5. On the Account Type pull-down menu, select POP Account
  6. Enter the following information:
      (Example)
    Description: yourisp.com
    Email Address: username@yourisp.com
    Full Name: (enter your name)
    Host name: (mail.yourisp.com)
    User name: (username)
    Password: (enter your password)
    SMTP Host: (mail.yourisp.com)

  7. Click OK
  8. Close the Mail Preferences window by clicking the red X in the upper left hand corner of the window and you are set up to send and receive e-mail.
